Registration and Warden

We strongly urge all American citizens to register with the Embassy and keep their registration current. Not only will this allow us to contact you in case of an emergency, but it will also help us help you should your passport be lost or stolen.

Note on the Privacy Act - The Privacy Act, which is designed to protect the privacy and rights of all Americans, occasionally complicates our efforts to assist U.S. citizens in Burkina Faso. As a general rule, we may not reveal information regarding an individual American's location, welfare, intentions or problems to anyone, including family members and Congressional representatives, without the expressed consent of that individual. We strongly urge all Americans to complete the Privacy Act Waiver at the bottom of the registration form when they register at the Embassy.
