New regulations for overseas voting are in effect as of 2010. To be sure you receive your ballot, the Department of State urges overseas voters to send in a new registration/ballot request form every election year, and whenever you change your name, address, or email address.
For voting registration and absentee ballot requests, you may refer to the State Department webpage on Overseas Voting, or the information provided by the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
To contact the Voting Assistance Officer and/or request forms or information, you may send us an e-mail or call. The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou is available to answer your voting questions.
When requesting voting information by e-mail, please indicate your name and your last “legal state of residence” in the United States.
