Non Immigrant Visa Application Fee Increase
December 2007
Effective January 1, 2008, the application fee for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa will increase from $100 to $131. The U.S. Department of State is required by law to recover the cost of processing non-immigrant visas through the collection of Machine-Readable Visa application fees. This fee increase will allow the Department of State to recover costs associated with new security-related enhancements to the non-immigrant visa application process, newly installed information technology systems, and inflation.
At the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou, the fee in FCFA will be determined by the current USD exchange rate. For the majority of qualified Burkinabe non-immigrant visa applicants, the $131 fee covers the cost of a five-year, multiple-entry visa to the United States.
Information regarding visa procedures, application fees, application forms, and interview hours can be found on the U.S. Embassy website at http://ouagadougou.usembassy.gov.
