In an effort to standardize worldwide service to American Citizens, the State Department has renamed our messaging system. What has not changed is the content. On our website, where we used to have “Warden Messages” and “Notes from the Consular Section,” we now have Emergency Messages for U.S. Citizens and Messages for U.S. Citizens. We will continue to provide you with up-to-date information on everything from security issues to new consular services and regulations.
New Appointment System for Non-Emergency Citizen Services
We have transitioned to an appointment only system for non-emergency citizen services. I would like to clarify that this will not limit our availability to serve you, but rather, with this change we hope to better serve you by reducing waiting times. For your convenience, you can schedule an appointment for non-emergency citizen services on our website – for passport services & for notary and other services – or you can always call us and schedule by phone: 50-49-53-00. If there is a specific day or time you would like to come in which is not available on our on-line system, just call or email and we will do our best to accommodate, although as always, non-emergency American citizen services are not available during non-immigrant visa interview hours (these vary throughout the year, but our generally Monday and Thursday mornings).
