Ambassador Jackson Speaks at Africa Center for Strategic Studies Seminar on the Role of the Armed Forces in Reinforcing Peace and Democracy in Africa
On November 15, the U.S. Department of Defense organization for promoting peace and stability in Africa, the Africa Center for Strategic Studies (ACSS), hosted a seminar on the Role of the Military in Reinforcing Peace and Democracy in Africa in Ouagadougou. Ambassador Jeanine Jackson gave remarks for the seminar’s opening ceremony, which was also attended by the Burkinabe Chief of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ali Traore, members of the ACSS Community Chapter of Burkina Faso, members of government, civil society, and the diplomatic community. ACSS is a unique American institution that reinforces civil-military relationships in Africa, supports democratic governance, and promotes dialogue among African, European, and American leaders. Events for the ACSS Community Chapter are one of many facets of ongoing military cooperation activities between the U.S and Burkina Faso.
