United States Ambassador offers Iftaar Dinner to religious leaders
Ambassador Jackson hosted an Iftaar Dinner on September 18 on the theme “interfaith dialogue.” In attendance were leaders of the Muslim, Protestant and Catholic communities. During the event she told the invitees that interfaith dialogue has a long tradition in the United States, both at the community level and at the national level, and among many different religions. She and the Burkinabé religious leaders agreed that Burkina Faso is a country that can serve as an example of ethnic and religious tolerance but nonetheless, it is always important to continue to improve on what is already a good situation to ensure long-lasting peace in the country.
