2011 E-teacher participants receive certificates

On November 25, 2011, Deputy Chief of Mission, Mr. Christopher Davis, hosted a luncheon for six Burkinabe English teaching professionals who participated in the US Embassy’s E-teacher Program.  During the previous academic year this group comprised of secondary and university level English instructors and English Inspectors completed university courses through the US Department of State’s E-teacher program.  These courses, covering a variety of topics in the English teaching field, were offered by the University of Oregon and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.  Not only did the participants learn new and exciting methods and trends in English teaching but the on-line format also helped them develop indispensable skills for exploiting Internet and computer technology.

Assistant Public Affairs Officer Chad Morris and American Language Center Director Lynn Hanson Ouedraogo joined in congratulating the E-teacher Program scholars and presenting their course completion certificates.

Through programs like this, the US Embassy through its American Language Center is reinforcing English teaching in Burkina Faso.
