Deputy Chief of Mission

The Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) is the second in charge at the Embassy and acts as the Chargé d'Affaires, a. i. in the absence of the Ambassador.  As Ambassador’s principal policy advisor, the DCM coordinates efforts of all Mission elements including Peace Corps, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and regional support from the Department of Defense, the Departments of Agriculture and Commerce, and Agency for International Development (USAID).   The DCM also oversees the heads of section at the Embassy, including the Political, Economic, Public Affairs and Management officers.  He will also serve as de facto ombudsmen, responding to employee concerns and quality of life issues.
