Launching Ceremony of the "Burkinabè Coalition for Women Rights" Activities at Mogtedo
The Burkinabe Coalition for Women's Rights held a workshop and ceremony in Mogtedo on Oct 22 in which Ambassador Jackson participated. This was one of three workshops funded by the U.S. Embassy to reinforce the participation of women in the political processes of Burkina Faso by increasing women’s municipal counselor capacities, so that they will be effective leaders in their communities. Ambassador Jackson took the opportunity to speak about the importance of men and women working together to achieve local communities' development priorities and to encourage women counselors to increase their capacity in order to play a larger, more active role in local politics.
